On January 31, 2014, at the HSE, the first meeting took place of university representatives participating in the global competitiveness programme 5/100. The group discussed the problems of recruiting lecturers from the international labour market.

On November 18, 2013, Yaroslav Kuzminov, Head of the Russian Public Chamber Commission for Education Development, took part in the all-Russian forum ‘Public Observations of the Unified State Examination (USE) in 2014’. The forum looked at how procedures for the USE could be improved.

The third Science Cinema Festival ‘360°’ takes place in Moscow from 10-17 October. The HSE was one of the first to be involved in this festival and its screenings.

The event was organized jointly by the HSE Chamber of Nationalities club and the Association of World Economy, a student organization. On November 21st, meetings of three working commissions of the Leading Russian HEIs in Economics and Management Association took place at the HSE – on the quality and audit of educational programmes, on staff problems and on experience exchange. Sergey Roshchin, Vice Rector of the HSE, told us more about the Association’s working groups.
How Can We Make Russian Education More Prestigious?
With the new academic year about to begin, the Rector of the National Research University HSE, Yaroslav Kuzminov, answered questions from members of the public in an online interview. The questions are about the problems and choices in developing Russian education, about the levels of achievement of school-leavers and university students and about the need for the new law 'On education in the RF'.
Academic Council: New Departments and Achievements
On June 29th 2012, the latest regular session of the Higher School of Economics Academic Council took place at the HSE. The agenda included information on the launch of new faculties and departments, approval of certain regulatory documents, as well as the results of the voting process for the teaching staff competition.
