Campus news at HSE University

The HSE building on Kantemirovskaya Street hosted a fair that brought together representatives of various nationalities of Russia. Dagestanis, Komi-Permyaks, ethnic Russians, Yakuts, Nenets, and Pomors presented their native land, showcased national dishes, organised workshops, and performed a concert programme.

On April 16, 2025, the HSE Cultural Centre hosted the opening of the tactile and inclusive exhibition ‘Touch the History of Victory.’ The event is part of the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland, announced by the President of Russia, and commemorates the 80th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War (1941–1945). The exhibition was developed by Vladimir Malyuchkov, a second-year master's student at the HSE Faculty of Creative Industries.

On April 10, the annual Career Marathon organised by the HSE Career Development Centre took place in the atrium of the HSE University building on Pokrovsky Bulvar. The event was held both on site and online. Students of various fields from both HSE and other universities took part in the event to broaden their career outlook and establish contacts with potential employers.

HSE University was the only participant from Russia to hold its own expert sessions at the annual conference and exhibition of the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE). The delegation was headed by Anna Tyshetskaya, Director of HSE University–St Petersburg.

Yulia Prokhorova and Oleg Korneev from the HSE Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs recently visited Delhi as part of an HSE University delegation to attend the annual Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE 2025) conference. The faculty representatives held a series of meetings with colleagues from universities in Brazil, Mexico, Morocco, India, and several other countries across the Asia-Pacific region, leading to new initiatives and expanding existing partnerships.

The Holi Festival, a celebration of spring, sunlight and Indian culture, was held at the atrium of the HSE University building on Pokrovsky Bulvar. Students and teachers immersed themselves in the atmosphere of one of the most vibrant Indian holidays, trying on traditional saris, participating in an quiz, and enjoying live performances.

The HSE building on Griboyedova Canal Embankment hosted an event devoted to Nowruz—an ancient Eastern festival symbolising the beginning of a new year and renewal of nature. Students of various universities from Pakistan, India, Iran, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, and Azerbaijan shared their distinctive local traditions, festive decorations, and national cultural practices.

On April 1, 2025, the HSE School of Foreign Languages celebrated its first anniversary. Over the year, the school has managed to implement innovative projects, create in-demand products, and set new trends. The article highlights the school’s main achievements.
